Introduction

At High5 Camping, the safety and security of your vehicle rental experience are our top priorities.

All vehicles rented through High5 Camping come fully insured, inclusive of breakdown cover, as standard practice.

There are two primary methods by which this coverage is provided. Vehicle Hosts (owners) may either opt to supply their own insurance policy or choose to leverage our integrated High5 Daily Cover policy, made possible through our partnership with Riverside Underwriting.

Whichever route is chosen, you can rest assured that your booking will be comprehensively covered by insurance, along with breakdown assistance.

Additionally, for every booking, a refundable Security Deposit is required to address any potential insurance excesses. It’s important to note that this deposit is fully safeguarded and managed through High5 Camping, alleviating any concerns for both Hosts and Renters alike.

High5 Daily Cover

If the host has opted for High5 Daily Cover, this will be clearly indicated in the vehicle listing.

The key distinction with this coverage is that you’ll directly purchase the policy, and your insurance and breakdown documentation will be accessible within the ‘Bookings’ section of your profile. It’s imperative to review this documentation carefully and ensure all details are accurate before collecting your vehicle. Vehicles covered by High5 Daily insurance should be listed at a reduced nightly rate to accommodate this additional cost.

Furthermore, all bookings utilising High5 Daily Cover include a mandatory refundable Security Deposit of £2,000 (this can be reduced to £500 if Excess Reduction Policy is taken out)  which is securely held and managed by High5 Camping. This deposit is returned upon the conclusion of the rental period.

High5 Excess Reduction Cover

All High5 Daily Insurance policies come with the option to reduce the mandatory 2k excess down to £500. This option is presented at the final checkout once the Host has confirmed the requested booking dates are available. The policy is charged at £8.40 per day and has a compulsory excess of £250 against all claims. As long as there is no further damage to the vehicle, outside of what is covered through the excess reduction cover, the Renter will receive £250 refund, even if a claim is made against the policy. The complete breakdown of the policy will be provided within the booking section of both Host & Renter portal once the policy is purchased. 

Renter Prerequisites

If your Host has opted for High5 Daily Cover, it’s essential to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria before finalising your booking. During the checkout process, you’ll receive prompts to confirm your compliance with the following requirements:

  • Named Driver aged between 25-75
  • Full Uk or International drivers licence 
  • Held a drivers licence for at least 2 years
  • Driving Convictions – No more than 3 points held
  • Only travelling within Uk 

The Process

To get started, you’ll first need to register for a Renter account by clicking on the registration link located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. After registering, please remember to check your spam folder for the verification email, as you’ll need to click on it to verify your account.

After registering, you’ll need to complete all your profile details and undergo ID verification, which typically only takes a few minutes. Once your ID verification is successfully completed, you’re all set to proceed!

The next step is to select your ideal campervan or motorhome for your adventure. Before requesting to book, make sure to carefully review the insurance driver requirements to ensure you meet them. Once you’re confident that you satisfy the requirements, go ahead and request to book!

Finally, once you have completed your booking you will receive conformation via email and through the ‘Bookings’ section of your profile. 

If the Host has provided their own insurance, they may message you to request some Driver’s details. If they have used High5 Daily Insurance, you will find all the insurance documentation inside the ‘Bookings’ tab on your portal. Be sure to check all details are correct before arriving to collect your vehicle.

Renter Insurance FAQ's

We have designed our Host and Renter portal to be intuitive and simplistic, whilst providing all the security and assurance you would expect.

  1. Click the register icon at the top-right of the page and create a username and complete you email and password.
  2. Next, choose to either setup a Host or Renter Profile account. The functionality differs between the two. 
  3. The next step would be to verify your email address. This can be done by clicking the link in the conformation email – ensure you check your spam emails if it’s not in your inbox.
  4. You are now registered and can list/rent your first vehicle!

Once you login you will have to fill out your profile details and get verified before either listing or renting through High5 Camping:

  1. Your Name: This will enable customers to engage with you. You will also be required to upload a profile photo to help connect with potential travellers.
  2. Contact & Address Details: These details will only be shared with customers once they have a confirmed booking and have made payment. It also enables us to make contact with you to provide support if needed.
  3. Bank Details (Host Only):These are required so we can transfer the funds post booking. These details are not shared with anyone and only used to facilitate secure and fast transaction of funds.

High5 Camping will never share your data with third parties and comply with GDPR requirements. 

To ensure we protect our Hosts and Renters, every registration will go through an ID verification process. This can be done with either Passport or Drivers License. These details are not shared with anyone and are used for ID verification process only.

Account verification is completed via a link sent through email. Please check your spam folder if it does not appear in your inbox. 

Click the email verification link and proceed to complete your profile details in. 

Renters do not need to input any payment details as part of registration, they just pick their preferred payment method at the checkout and proceed to payment – High5 does not store Renter bank details. 

Host’s can update or change their bank details through the profile tab within the Host portal. All profile updates are referred to High5 Admin team for verification before going live – this may take a few minutes and you will be informed via email once complete.
