South West of England

Plymouth

Vibrant Plymouth has lots of exciting things to see and do. You’ll find plenty of action on the water in Plymouth Sound and on land in nearby Dartmoor, plus a number of excellent beaches within easy reach.

Exeter

With a rich cultural history and lots of attractions to suit all visitors, Exeter is a buzzing city. Situated on the River Exe as it winds its way through Devon, the city is architecturally stunning and offers lots of outdoor spaces to explore too.

Devon

It’s likely taken only a second’s thought to hit on Devon for your holidays – with its stunning coastline, dual national parks, mild climate and unbeatable beaches.

Wiltshire

Home to England’s world famous monument, historic Wiltshire belongs on your itinerary. A walk along medieval Salisbury’s ancient streets and a visit to the striking cathedral is pure inspiration. Other unmissable attractions include a day at Stonehenge, admiring the sea of colours at the National Trust’s gardens in Stourhead, and meeting the other ‘locals’ at Longleat Safari.

Hampshire

Home to the New Forest National Park, Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard and the cathedral town of Winchester, Hampshire is known for its pleasant rural landscapes, bustling market towns and cosy traditional pubs. This county situated on the southern coast of England has a fantastic coastline, a wealth of historic sites and plenty of places to see and things to do for people of all ages.

Dorset

From Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the rest of the Jurassic Coast, to Corfe Castle and Cerne Abbas – there’s lots to do in Dorset and plenty of natural beauty to go with it. Few counties in the UK have quite so many big name destinations – Weymouth, Bournemouth and Swanage to name just a few.

Somerset

Whether it’s cider and Cheddar you’re after, the natural beauty of Exmoor and the Mendips, or a break at the traditional seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea, Minehead and Weston-super-Mare, Somerset is popular for good reason.

Bristol

The vibrant and attractive city of Bristol has it all. Straddling the River Avon, the city is home to the SS Great Britain – billed as the ship that changed the world! – and there’s culture aplenty here.
